Techmotive takes several precise steps to reset a vehicle’s steering sensors after realignment and related repairs to ensure the system functions properly. First, we run a diagnostic test to identify the wheel alignment procedures. Then, a certified Techmotive technician calibrates the steering sensor and assesses whether steering column or axle repairs are needed. Upon completing the vehicle’s calibration, the technician ensures the ABS settings are set correctly and performs a road test to confirm the calibration is accurate.
We begin by disconnecting the airbag system and the vehicle’s low voltage battery to prevent accidental discharge. A technician carefully removes the airbag from the wiring harness within the steering wheel or panel. The panels, console, and roof are thoroughly inspected for damage, as they may require replacement following deployment. A new airbag is then installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Finally, a diagnostic test is performed to reset the airbag control module, and any sensors affected by the collision are inspected to ensure proper functionality.
