Debunking ADAS Calibration Costs

Our mission is to prioritize the well-being of both the vehicle owner and the vehicle itself. With a decade of expertise in vehicle technology repair, we aim to clarify common misconceptions in the auto repair industry.

A frequent concern we address is the belief that ADAS calibrations are driving up repair costs. This is not true.

Independent studies supporting ADAS repair costs

ADAS-equipped vehicles not only enhance safety by saving lives and reducing injuries, but they also contribute to an overall 8% reduction in repair costs. Don’t just take our word for it—the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has published data confirming a decrease in collisions.

Furthermore, reports from Lexis/Nexis, utilized by insurers to determine rates based on vehicle repair costs, consistently demonstrate that ADAS technology saves money. Collisions are less frequent and, when they do occur, are less severe.

However, a focus on the perceived “additional cost” of ADAS calibrations can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Uncalibrated or improperly calibrated vehicles will underperform, leading to increased costs over time.
